The Kimball Ballroom at Stephens College filled with guests last Saturday afternoon awaiting the arrival of Nick and Nikki.
The couple chose a rustic elegant theme for their decor and it was simply stunning to say the least. We were honored to be chosen to provide the DJ & Event Lighting for the evening.
The Decor
White and gold specialty linens, a eucalyptus greenery garland, and burgundy and white flowers lined the head table at the Kimball Ballroom in Columbia, MO on August 4th. The linens' wood-grain pattern tied together the rustic feel of this couple's elegant decor. Guests' tables featured either tall arrangements of mixed eucalyptus greenery and white floral accents, or rustic lanterns encircled in eucalyptus greenery wreathes adorned with white roses and hydrangeas. Custom dinner menus were wrapped in olive or champagne colored napkins and garnished with a sprig of rosemary topped with a miniature woodcuts straight "From our land to your home!" (Texas).
Grand Entrance
As cocktail hour came to a close our Elite DJ, Jonathan, brought in the wedding party to the tune of "You Sexy Thing" by Hot Chocolate, and happily announced the Newlyweds to Lady Antebellum's "You Look Good." Guests welcomed everyone in with applause and awes and everyone truly looked great in their pale pink halter top dresses and grey suits. Allen's Flowers did an amazing job on the flowers and the bride's cascading bouquet.
Cake and Toasts
The couple had a simple white three tiered cake with white floral and greenery accents and a custom monogram cake topper. Their crystal and gold cake servers were absolutely to-die-for. They followed their cake cutting ceremony with a champagne toast complete with matching gold stemmed champagne flutes.
Look at that custom monogram cake topper!
Dances
"She's as free as the Blue Bonnets in the summer She's as hot as the Padre Island sun Most of the times she's as warm and friendly Like the hills that surround Austin She's as bright as the Dallas sky She always holds her head up high She loves the company of her family She has faith in God's greater plan She trusts that I'm a good man And that why I'll always believe She's like Texas and she likes me"
“She’s Like Texas” by Josh Abbott Band
Nikki and her father danced to Alan Jackson's "Drive" - a heartfelt song about a child and their dad, that brought back sweet memories from my own childhood.
Nick and his Mom, Joan had a blast dancing to Jason Mraz's “Have It All”. Just check out these perfect lyrics:
"May you have auspiciousness and causes of success
May you have the confidence to always do your best
May you take no effort in your being generous
Sharing what you can, nothing more nothing less
May you know the meaning of the word happiness
May you always lead from the beating in your chest
May you be treated like an esteemed guest
May you get to rest, may you catch your breath
And may the best of your todays be the worst of your tomorrows And may the road less paved be the road that you follow
Oh! I want you to have it all I want you to have it I want you to have it all"
They had so much fun, in fact, that they spilled their drinks! Luckily some guests stepped in and wiped the floor before the dance party began.
Blue Diamond Events DJ, Jonathan, started the dance party with Bruno Mars of course! Children danced close to the DJ booth lighting because ... where else?
