It was a truly a pleasure to Coordinate and Celebrate with Ryan & Emilie for their Fall Themed, Mid-October wedding at Stephens College.
Getting Ready
While my team, the groom, and a handful of willing and helpful family members of the couple decorated the ceremony and reception venues, the ladies spent their morning pampering themselves and primping their hair & make-up at The Beach Salon and LauraWithBlush.
Everyone looked gorgeous when they arrived at The Broadway Hotel to change into their wedding attire for pre-ceremony photos with Rhiannon from Pop Wedding Photography!
Our team was on hand to assist with our Wedding Day Emergency Kit (which always comes in handy!) and snap a few intimate photos with the bride and her bridetribe before heading out for Ryan and Emilie's first look.
First Look
There's a handful of moments throughout life that will stand out in our minds forever. One of those is the first time you see your future husband or wife on your wedding day. It's one of those times when time itself stands still. When you can truly see the beginning of your future together. It's beautiful, it's full of emotion, and it's something I highly recommend. It's also one of the rare moments when you actually get time to yourselves on your big day.
Ceremony
The Firestone Baars Chapel is one of the most intimate and unique Columbia venues to tie the knot, designed by renowned Finnish architect Eero Saarinen (designer of the St. Louis Gateway Arch). Although the Chapel's square design makes for a short aisle, it makes up for it in gorgeous stained glass windows, warm wood and exposed brick walls, and an impressive 19th century pipe organ that serves as a backdrop to the alter.
Reception
The Kimball Ballroom was decked out for this wedding party! Fall leaves, gold votives, and candles graced the guest book, gift, and memorial table as guests entered the space.
The first thing everyone was sure to notice was the fall tree decor lighting and orange venue uplighting by SW Productions. It covered the walls of the venue and really set the scene for the evening.
Guest tables were decorated with of a variety of complimentary floral arrangements by Tiger Garden that consisted of light pink roses, red carnations, white hydrangeas, burgundy broom bloom, and seeded eucalyptus - complete with gold manzanita branches and lanterns - sitting atop luxurious blush mermaid scales taffeta table runners. Guests sat in gold chiavari chairs from Roger's Rentals.
The head table sat on the Kimball Ballroom stage, and was draped with a satin navy linen, and featured large gorgeous arrangements of the same flowers on either side of the newlywed's seats. Our team also transferred the beautiful large lantern arrangements following the ceremony and indoor bridal party portraits, to sit in front of the head table, further accentuating their lovely reception decor.
The cake and dessert tables sat on the opposite stage, highlighted by pinspot lighting, also by SW Productions. The simple 2-tier round quilted design featured gold pearls, burgundy ribbon, and a love cake topper.
The cake itself sat atop a rose gold stand, purchased by the couple. We decorated the table with one of their blush sequined table runners, glass votives with flickering candles, and a bridesmaid's bouquet. We also set out one of the most creative and sweetest wedding shower gifts I've seen thus far - a set of his and her "I do" and "Me too" forks - that they used to take their first bites of wedding cake.
DJ Huggie Bear of HB Sounds welcomed in the wedding party and happy couple, and got the party started with a collection of their favorite music as SC Events prepared the buffet and released guests for dinner.
As the night progressed the happy couple shared their first dance to “How Long Will I Love You” by Ellie Goulding, as well as their Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances, and listened to heart-warming speeches by their honored friends.
It was truly a night to remember. It's clear to my team and to all of their guests, that Emilie and Ryan share that rare and special love that all of us search for in life.
Congratulations again newlyweds! And thank you for choosing and trusting in our team to be a part of your special day.
